Marriage / Relationship counselling
PURPOSE
This is a marriage counselling programme aimed at clients who are experiencing relationship difficulties. Strong emphasis is placed on achieving reconciliation congruent with the client’s cultural and religious imperatives. Couples attend a series of counselling sessions where issues concerning the relationship breakdown can be discussed in a culturally appropriate way and in an atmosphere of trust, confidentiality and encouragement.
GOALS
- Reconciliation of the marriage is achieved, or
- A resolution to the couples situation is found
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
- On completion of the programme, clients will understand more fully, the reasons for their marriage difficulties as well as the implications involved as a consequence of a full potential breakdown.
- Clients will be able to make informed decisions regarding their marriage and interpersonal relationship.
Clients will be capable of accessing community resources and networks to support the partnership role.
STRUCTURE
- Introduction
- Situational analysis and needs assessment
- Action plan prepared and presented to client/s
- Counselling sessions commence (Interim Evaluation conducted at midway point)
- Programme Evaluation – Customer Satisfaction Survey
- Follow Up and ongoing incremental Client Evaluation
- Exit Programme
