Information and Advice

The aim of this service is to provide general information and advice to clients and through targeted programmes, up-skill the client to increase their skill and knowledge base and; strengthen the resourcefulness of individuals and families to be able to fulfil their immediate social domestic needs.

A primary terminal goal for this programme will be to assist the client in transition from interdependence to full independence. The service provides families with good and reliable advice that will help them make informed decisions and thus encourage self reliance.  The service is aimed specifically at Pacific Island people and their families but is also suitable for other ethnic groups who have similar needs.    The service is supported by a tailored Programme entitled ‘Information/Advocacy and Advice’.
